What do you target?

What species of fish do you primarily fish for? Where do you fish for them?

As I've said, I chase muskies from Mid-April to Mid-October and Steelhead from Mid-October to Mid-April (unless the rivers are completely frozen).

I do most of my muskie fishing on Pymatuning, West Branch, Milton and Leesville Reservoirs with the odd trips to Piedmont & Salt Fork and Chautauqua in NY state.

For steelhead, My home water is the Chagrin River with the Grand a close second. I also will hit the Rocky, Ashtabula and Conneaut.

Ironically, I live 3 miles from Lake Erie but only rarely fish it. I don't get real excited about perch and walleye. Also, my boat is set up for inland waters and is a bit underpowered for the big lake.

We fish for salmon in the spring and fall trolling, and fishing the mouths of the rivers with spawn bags! I like to fish for whitefish jigging through the ice! I get up to canada once a year to fish for Walleyes and pike and occasionally a brooky or two

Been targeting specs lately, trying to find the birds working in Trinity Bay. I was on the flounder run, and that provided nicely! In the summer I am on the hunt for reds.

I usually fish the TC dike area up into west bay. I also fish Trinity Bay, and from seabrook/kemah to La Porte/Morgan's point.

Re: Fishing

I like to fish the White, Norfork, and Little Red Rivers for Rainbow, and Brown, Trout. But I enjoy all types of fresh water fishing. "A day fishing beats a day of work anytime."

I try to switch it up to master my skills...

My favorite fish to catch is anyone that will give me a fight...
Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, and Smallmouth Bass all come in tied for 1st though.

I like walking small creeks and pickin' off gills and pumpkinseeds, and in the spring hitting the shad run. It's fun to tie off to pilings and knock off a few cats, perch and the occasional carp. I also like sneaking up on bass in little farm ponds and what not and trolling for the big stripers in the susquehanna flats...

I have yet to catch a walleye, muskie, pickrel, or pike. Those are fish on my "to catch list" they just aren't abundant around here.

I hunt cut-throat and rainbow in the coastal streams. Small spinners, with light tackle, waders, beer and a headwater.
