try not to fiddle with any of the adjustments if you can help it but if your lucky it will just be a dirty carb the main jet in there will be in the middle when you take the bowl off and will take a jet screw driver to get it out without rounding it. if you don't have one of those make sure you are perfectly square with the jet or you will round it and cause yourself even more of a headache. oh yeah, don't get anything on the gaskets and put the gasket for the bowl up on the carb not on the bowl when you put it back together
good luck calvin

My hunting partner had a similar problem. Cleaning was the answer. Gas doesn't have to sit to long to start to varnish up the jet and other crucial areas. Also make sure the spark plug is clean.

I got it fixed, and it turned out to be the same thing on my lawnmower also. (they both use the same honda 160cc motor). If you remove the screw in the top of the carb body you gain access to the primary air jet passages. I ran a thin strand of copper wire through it, and sprayed it out real good with cleaner. Reassembled and now the mower and generator work like new again. I also started the habit of adding Stabilizer to all of my gas cans now so I can keep more fuel on hand. Especially after this hurricane season. Thanks for all of the input guys.

Did your state recently change over to an ethanol blend? It wreaked havoc on a lot of our stuff when we got it. Just a thought. Tim
