spoonbill

Goin to OK for a spoonbill fishing weekend! A much needed trip to relax and get away from the wife and kids.

I went to the spring river. Did alright and caught a few. Didnt keep any but they were fun to haul in. Kinda like trying to real in a cinder block. Will post pics later.

I couldnt figure out how to reset the date on the camera till later. Too much fun fishing!

we caught 13 total. These were just 3 of the bigger ones I caught.

I never heard about a spoonbill. They just canceled the whole salmon season here in California. We are looking at halibut now.

Never tried to eat one. They are bad enough smellin when theyre alive. Couldnt imagine the smell when theyre dead. I just like catchin them. Throw em back as soon as I get a pic.

the spoon bills eggs are considered a delicacy (to some) like caviar , yeah i know i did not believe it either, but i have been told by a few guys that go fishin for them that it's true...
