Took girlfriend fishing

We had nothing better to do and the big water was too choppy so I took her into the Lynnhaven Inlet near Virginia Beach. As it turns out, she caught everything and skunked me but it was a good time. She ended up catching 3 croakers, a puffer fish, a wicked sun burn, and a Zebco 54" rod and reel combo :-).

I love that she caught the Zebco! I have seen 2 of my buddies loose $200+ rod/reels each overboard and almost dive in after them. I always wondered if someone would someday catch their setup. Now I know. lol

Looks like a good day. I have never minded when my GF skunks me while fishing. I don't tell her that though, I just tell her I was too busy getting her setup right to catch my own fish hahaha

X2. Totally agree. Even though she was letting me hear it, I was totally ok with not catching a damn thing cause I know if it was the other way around, it wouldn't have been nearly as fun for her. I gave her my good ultralight rod and reel while I was fishing with a walleye pole. I'm lucky in the fact that she sets up all her own stuff though. She even rips crawlers in half and gets the fish off her hook by herself. She's awesome.

That's awesome. Yup, key is to keep them happy. I'm just happy to be on the water. Mine sets hers up too, but it's my only excuse. I'll have her swing her lure over so I can change it since i'm by the tackle box. It takes mere seconds but it's the only excuse I can come up with sometimes.

Nice! I love croaker and spot fishing. Used to do it a lot in Norfolk when I was a kid. Waaaay before 9/11 my grandparents get us on the Navy base to fish.
