New to fishing also

Just recently was looking for a hobby that didn't take all my damn money like my other hobbies and being that I'm from corpus Christi on the bay quite a few of my buddies fish so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Took my *** to the local academy picked me up a 50 dollar ugly stick combo and some tackle and headed out. Now as a kid in the summers I did some fresh water fishing on a lake my grandma lived at bit not enough to make me a pro angler by any means.

Went out to a spot we call sea pines it's a 4wd only area leads back to a lagoon of some sort in between padre island and the corpus Christi mainland if you will. Got a large ship chAnnel not too far from the area. Was told the "lagoon" we were casting in was a prime drum feeding spot around dusk. So with 2 lbs dead shrimp we headed out there seems as if we missed the major feeding time got there a bit late was getting bites nothing major wound up landing a little 14-15 inch black drum and a 25"ish redfish. Not a bad take for first time out. Hoping to get better gear and some better catches once I learn more seems to be more to it than just bait on a string lol

You couldn't have picked a Better Hobby IMO. I have been fishing mostly freshwater since I could stand up. There a lots of good places in your area from what I hear. If your ever out this way, I will show you Crappie and Brim till your sick of catchin' them (if thats possible) Amyway, good to hear another person enjoying this awsome Hobby.

Yeah I'm hooked already. Just hoping to learn some tips and tricks maybe get some equipment help idk what's good and what isn't.

Oh it wont take all of your money you still need to buy fuel to get out to your Fishen hole! Tackle gets expensive and fishing is very addicting. I blame my father for my fishing addiction can you believe that SOB made me grow up in a bass boat. That will mess you up for the rest of your life........
