sharks off the beach

this is a thread from another forum i sometimes post on. its mostly fishing off the beach in brigantine island n.j. and atlantic city n.j., where i go surf fishing. summertime is great for shark fishing and we've caught some decent size sharks up to 70lbs. from the surf. but look what this guy pulled in recently. largest i've seen off brigantine. i've only been able to catch sharks at dusk till dawn, the time they usually hunt, but if the tourists only knew what we pull out of that water at night! lol, the'd think twice before they let thier little kids run in the water with that boogie board.

alot of large sharks get caught all down the coast but thats a first for where i go to fish.

yeah i wonder why they come in close? probably has nothing to do with those large bloody fishheads we throw into the sea at night.

We see those getting pulled in quite frequently around here. I work in Sabine Pass and it is a sportsman's paradise for fishing, crabbing, duck hunting, etc. Last year we made a couple EMS calls where people got knicked by some of those bad boys "sampling" people's legs or hands while they were surf fishing. It seems that it happens far more frequent to the guys that have their bait bag hanging off their hip. I don't have much reason to go into the water after seeing some of those bigguns being dragged out.
