I just picked up 2 Penn Slammers off Ebay for $60 a piece brand new. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but they seem really nice for the money.

If I am chunking bait at Salmon I am using a G Loomis. If I am really fishing for them I prefer my Sage fly rod.

G. Loomis is definatly the best rod out there. the boat i worked on last season had all rods from G. Loomis and all reels were shimano of various models. We broke one and sent it in, great service, had a new one in 2 days and provided us with a return adress pre paid. we do sailfishing down here in the winters, marlin in the summers in the bahamas. in the late fall sportfishing shuts down for deer season.
