Finally bought an Assualt Rifle !!!
After looking at some guns at a local gun shop. No intentions to buy any guns I looked at a SKS rifle. After looking at 2 different ones a guy there talked me into buying one of them. They had an original with like the plastic stock and a Russian one with matching numbers and the original wood. I bought the Russian one. It's a 1953R 762x39 Russia
I will have to get pictures of it then. I don't know much about these guns so I will have to read up on them.... Any good places to learn or read or even discuss would be helpful. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Russian variants are really nice, one of the best IMO. Most of the guys on this site are really good 24hourcampfire.com — "BIG EYES: Seeing Is Believing" (Rick Bin)
I've got a Yugo SKS, and it shoots great! That cosmoline blows to remove, but it can be done. I found that the oven does work well, but it smells pretty bad. Minerall spirits and brake cleaner are also good for getting it out of the smaller crevises

I also have a Yugo SKS and it is one of my favorite guns.

Looks great Ryan! The adjustable stocks are nice

It is one of my favorite guns and is surprisingly accurate at long range.
