90s Colt 1911 deal
A friend of my dads has offered me a deal on a Colt 1911 with 3,500 rounds of ball and hollow point ammo all for 1400 I think its a good deal, just wondering what some of you guys thought.

Seems real $$$$ unless you really want a old gun, you can get a new killer 1911 for that.

I was thinking about the amount of ammunition that come with it

Damn good deal, that's over a $1000 in ammo alone.

I would buy it. You could almost wear that gun out just with that amount of ammo

welder: that is a good deal. any 1911 built by Colt is worth it if it's in good condition. I would stay away from any new 1911's since most are made with MIM parts and not designed to last more than 1000-2000 rounds. That colt last well past the 3400 rounds you will get with it. i've seen quality (older) 1911's with over 20,000 rounds on them and they are still good to go. Buy that blaster and get on the range!!!

I have put well over 2000 rounds through my "new" 1911, bought in 2005, and its a champ of a gun. I just had a 1911 smith go through it and replace a couple springs but he said it looks to be in great condition and if i ever want to sell it, to ask him first.
Sounds like a good deal since youll be getting close to $1000 in ammo alone. |

I should have been clearer in my definition of new. Built in the last couple years would be a more accurate time frame.... Didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers, some production 1911's are still built well with quality parts, many are not.... I'm just sayin...

care to list any of the brands you feel are not built to last more than 1000-2000 rounds
