Gun question, HELP

I picked up a Remington 742, 30-06, real nice looking rifle. But when I shot it the first time, it won't eject the spent shell. The bolt works fine, it just doesn't grab the shell. they aren't stuck, its just not grabbing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

before you take it to a gunsmith try a different ammo. Im not sure what ammo your shooting, but I would try some quality ammo just in case you got a bad batch.

I'm shooting Winchester power points, which I shoot in my 2-7mm Mags and 2-243s. I would agree, but since the action works perfect and just leaves the shell I'm afraid Jim is right. But, I have to pick up some ammo for the 7x57 today, I'll grab a box of Federals and try it, can't hurt.
I could still hunt with it, just have to carry a cleaning rod to drop spent shell out, kinda like using a muzzle loader! LOL

I would agree that you have a bigger problem than ammo, but that's what I thought about my Rem 700 it wouldn't eject Hornadys but low and behold it ejected everything else can't hurt to try
