what rifle do you plan to carry in a "bug out" scenario?

kind of wondering what everyone would carry in an end of the world scenario where you had to get outta dodge on foot or in a vehicle. i put a BOB together a few weeks ago and loaded it with 5.56 for my ar15 but i have been thinking about getting a springfield M1A instead. i would love to take my AK but i think finding ammo for it in the long run would make it useless. interested in hearing everyones thoughts so post em.

.22 LR would prob be a good choice. You could carry LOTS of ammo, and it's easy to find.

Depends what exactly you're planning for though. If it's just survival I'd go 22, if you're planning and offesive strike or something (

) AR, AK, M1, something along those lines might work better.

6.8mm for me...not sure which type of rifle but that is the next caliber I want

Depends on if you can only take one. I would take one of my AR's. Can't decide on the rifle or carbine. Rifle has a scope, heavier, no collapsable stock. Carbine is not as accurate but easier to carry.

If you could take two. It would be an AR and 10/22. You could eat with the .22 and not draw a lot of attention to yourself and still have the AR as back up. The one gun I would stay away from is a shotgun. Have to get too close to what you want to keep away from you in the first place & the shells take up too much space.

I don't think you could go wrong with any semi auto chambered for military ammo. That's the ammo everybody is stocking up on.
