Looking for a new pistol

Thinking of getting either a Glock 21 or a Springfield 1911. Educate me as to which I should get.

I agree! But my personal preference for conceal carry is an XD sub compact .40 with a pachmayr #5 grip and for accuracy at distance then I would reccommend a 1911! I own several glocks as well as Xd and they are very much the same on dependability so don't cancel out an XD!

whatever feels the most comfortable in your hand. If you look at Srpingfield(either 1911 or XD) or a glock, both are great brands and you will be hapy with either. I have a better shot with the springfield XD40 that I carry. but its all up to you and your decision on what fits better.

Find a local range that rents guns. Most will have a full line of Glocks for rent, that should tell you a lot right there. Ask friends who own guns, shoot as many different types and sizes as you can and find what works for you. Or be like me and after 25 years have 15+ handguns to choose from depending on my dress, weather, etc.... I live in a small town and I actually have more handguns and ammo then the so called "gun shop" in town, lol!!!! If you live near me you are welcome to shoot anything in the safe!!
