Who knows about Mitsubishi Evo's?

My buddy is a rice lover and is building up an Eagle Talon ... I know I know. He is going to put a 6-speed transmission from an Evo in there because apperantly they mesh. But he needs to know which Evo has the front of the engine on the driver's side. Anybody know...?

He's building this 10-second street car so that's why he's doin all he's doin with it. Hey we spend our money on silly stuff too!

Sell the eagle and buy a Ford. That is my suggestion, the powerstrokes come with a 6 speed manual.

I'm way confused. The GSX applications of the old Talon/Eclipse's (AWD) still had perpendicular engines in them. What do you mean by "the front of the engine on the driver's side"... that doesn't make any sense. So some simple searches... it shouldn't be that hard.

I think you misinterpreted what I meant by "front".
In a certain year on the Evo's the engine switched. As in the front of the engine (pulleys, belts...) is on one side, and then they face the other way. Sorry for the confusion lol. And thanks 97StrokerG!!!

He's talking about the sideway's mounted motors, he's looking for one that the belt (front) of the motor faces to the drivers side.

Well I'm not sure, i did a google search, and found that most if not all older ones had left side mounts, and the 2004 had a right side mount as well as the 2006. So it might not be a mid year switch.
