Lincoln Idealarc 250 welder

My boss has this welder in storage and mentioned that he wanted to get rid of it. I offered him $200 to buy it, but he said he could probably get $800 to scrap it. I think he is a little optimistic with that scrap price, but does anyone know how much he could realistically get for scrap? He says it works. I think it is a shame to scrap any good old piece of equipment especially if it works. I'm sure they don't make welders as good as this anymore. This is the old Tombstone style, probably from the 60s or early 70s.

He won't get near that much in scrap unless he tears it completely apart and separates everything. But even then $800 is pushing it disassembled. There's way more iron than copper in there.
