Diesel Geo

I've heard of this being done... And it's one of those projects I think about.. But I'd like to put a Kubota diesel engine in a little Geo Metro 2dr.... Anyone seen these? What I'm most concerned about fab wise is how to go from motor to tranny.. I have the least knowledge in this particular department.. How would that work?

A guy i know did one, he used the engine out of a piggyback forklift. He said top speed was 60 mph but he also claimed that he got 60 miles per gallon out of it. Seems high but he swore it was true.
