Aluminum wheel paint question
Ok, I have no idea where to post this other than here...
I have aluminum wheels on my truck. they were not taken care of and are in pretty bad shape. polishing on them only does so much....
when I rotated my tires last week after having new tires installed, i saw that the guy at the shop didnt have my rim clamped down well and his jaws of his tire machine bit into my rims and gouged them some.
being that my rims are not really in great shape and have the scratches in them now to boot, heres my question....
can I scuff them up and prime them, and then paint them with a good quality spray? I am going to do this with tires on, or, i could do it with tires off. I can mask off and spray them without getting on the tires. spray color will be black most likely.
Powedercoating is out, as I dont have a spot for my truck to sit without wheels for the days while wheels are gone. also, nearest guy that does this is over an hour away.
what can i do?
