Flatbed Questions
Hey Guys, well since winter is setting in Im starting to come up with ideas to do the truck when spring rolls around. (I only have a gravel driveway to work in). And Im thinking a flatbed is in order for truck next year, and a new bumper. But for the flatbed Im wanting to put underbody tool boxes on both sides of the bed in front of the tires. But what do you guys do with the filler neck for the fuel tank? Ive seen guys reroute them on gas pickups and have to use a 4x4 to run the truck up on to gas em up. And I dont want to run into that. What would you guys suggest?
Thanks, Chris |

I would tuck the filler neck in at the base of the headache rack on the drivers side, if you have a mid mounted tank. That way, you can put it up high enough for gravity feed, and still have it out of the way.
Some guys put a flap in the deck, with the fill neck under it, which is just fine, til you have a load on and need fuel. |

I had a flatbed on one of my older trucks and we just cut a plate and welded it to the bottom of the bed and basically mounted the neck in its original position.

mine is in the "side" as far up as it can go, and deff would not put it on the flat part of the bed! but thats me, the only issue I have is I cant use a semi-sized filler cause it flows to fast, but heck most of our trucks cant.
