Question home made traction bars

i got a buddy going to make me a set of traction bars for my truck, i'm looken for some designes and overall tips on whats worked and what hasn't. So whats everyone got?

got $80 in mine..schedule 80 pipe..6ft length..end links from TSC welded in ends total bar length 7ft. Made brackets to bolt to frame and weld to axle and grade 8 bolts...easy way to save money

Do you mean if welded is better then bolted? or the other way around?

I have bolt on brackets for the frame rail in which I have 3 bolts goin through the frame on side and 2 underneath...plenty sturdy..I have axle tabs welded to the axle and boxed in the rear. Like I said if u look at farmboy fab or lazar bars they are schedule 80 pipe with end links selling for $600 plus..If u have access to welder and $80 to spend you can has the same

i got acces to welder, and got a couple of metal shops, and even a Fastenal (if anyone knows what it is) i'm sure i can get everything i need there

how do you have 80 bucks in yours? what size pipe did you use? i just built a set and im no where close to that. hook me up!

1.0"OD schedule 80 pipe for like $13.00 per 6ft section..bought bolts at fastenal..
