Homemade Bumper Replacement
Over Thanksgiving weekend, I decided to build the bumper I have been sketching and thinking about for a couple months. Thought yall might enjoy.
Getting Started with 4" sch 40 steel pipe. (kinda looks like I'm doing "The Robot"). ![]() ![]() ![]() Taking off bumper and tow hooks: ![]() Pipe mocked up. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g.../Bumper006.jpg Cardboard template of mounting brackets: ![]() Actual Mounting Bracket [IMG]http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg138/willholl79/Bumper008.jpg IMG] ![]() ![]() ![]() Marking template for diamond plate "deck" 1/8in.: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cardboard template for skirting: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this is how it sits so far: I still have to take it off the truck and do a little more welding on the back and prime/paint the back. Lots of grinding and some minor trimming to do on the front then paint. All in all I am very satisfied with it so far. I'm gonna add a 2" light bar in front of the grill. I also wanna give a special thanks to my brother for helping me with the project. |

Where did you tie the bottom of skirting into? Or is it just hanging?
