ram air intake

im going to make my own ram air tube going to my intake box. i saw one on a duramax that came from underneath the box and went down under the air dam. looked pretty sweet and the hp gains were pretty good. it was like 23 hp and a little more trq. i think im going to use a 2 or 2 1/2" pvc pipe. im also going to heat the end of the pipe to get a nice oval shape for the air intake end. as soon as i get it installed, ill do a write up on it.

I did something similar to my 03 silverado. i used 3 1/2 inch piping ( pvc ) it went from my manifold about 14 inches to my fender supports and goes into and behind the passenger headlights and comes out where my tow hooks were ( took them out ) and the hole where the tow hooks where were perfect for it. helps alot actually and i spray painted my blue the same color as my truck. and for the intake part on the bottom i used some heavy duty fabric bought from wal mart over the end of it followed by a piece of panty hose to keep out dirt and debrise as much as possible. workd really well actually...id take pictures and show you but i took the set up out of the truck when i sold it to my moms boyfriend a while back. i bought it back from him and instead of putting it back i put a Spector cold air system on it. open filter. was very nice.
