97 powerstroke low boost, air gushing noise

Hello Everyone. I have a 97 psd with the mods listed in my sig. Today while driving noticed boost wouldn't get over 6lbs. Checked filter, intake hoses, wheel of turbo for play or dusting. It makes a noisy sound of either sucking or blowing air( think the missing air is reason can't reach normal boost of 18 or so. Help? I drive 200 miles a day easily, hate not having all my power on tap!

Check for a blown hose. Leaking gasket on the intake manifold. Most likely it is a blown hose.

I'd check all clamps and check hoses for cracks and tears.

I'm almost sure there is an exhaust leak I hear under hard acceleration, similar to the ticking noise my z71 chevy made when the donut gasket was bad. I'm gonna go ahead and remove those orange bands and make sure they're healthy

Do you mean unplugged ebpv? 97 turbos had no wastegate from factory.

That's what I meant, unplugged ebpv...well I just got in and after a hard days work me and my buddy found the low boost culprit. The intercooler pipe clamp on drivers side at grill was blown off. Thanks guys cause the dealer wanted me to leave it with them and one of the good local shops was suggesting boost cooler was bad

Just got my front and rear add a leafs in. Looking forward to this install!?!
