Truck just died wont restart!
2001 Ford f350 7.3L powerstroke Just died will not restart. The tach will move while cranking to about 200-250 rpm. So I think that rules out cam position sensor which has been replaced 8 months. Changed oil thinking dirty oil can cause a no start, still no start, but the new oil never got dirty all the while I was cranking. Which leaves me to believe that the high pressure oil pump is bad because its not taking in the clean oil and out putting the dirty oil in doing so it should cloud up the clean oil. The truck has 183,000 miles on it. Ever since I have owned the truck, which had 153,000 miles on it when I got it. I have had to start it & let it warm up before it will accelerate. After warm up for 10 mins. or so you get on the road and accelerate and it acts like it has a miss, but if you floor it it straightens right out & you don't have any more problems with it until it cools all the way back down. Then the same thing starts all over agian. Until it died today and won't restart.
Thanks for your time, Peter
