Jerking/jumping/bucking/quitting

Hello All - I'm new here. I'm having a problem with my Powerstoke. It's a 94 PSD with 204+ thousand miles, and a five speed. Today I was driving along at 62ish with the cruise on on a flat road and all of a sudden the truck just turned itself off. No warning, noises, nothing. So I turned the key off and then back on and it started right up no problems drove all the way home. No big deal I thought let's see if it happens again. Well driving into town this evening it started jerking and bucking the tach was jumping from 2000 to 1200 and back. I pulled off it stopped bucking and I continued on. Headed back home from town I was accelerating away from a stop light and it started jerking and bucking and then quit. It started right up again after I made it to the side of the road. It is now home and I'm hoping someone could give me some direction or if anyone has had this happen before. Thanks - Terry

I am just picturing a truck that looks like a bull hopping around down the road...

It felt like it from the driver's seat.
