2003 PSD Won't Start Again

Hi Guys, Well my 2003 PSD will not start again. I have had this problem in the past, in my last situation (3 weeks ago) i replacedthe CPS, and fuel pump then found out my HPOP resevior was empty. I replaced the oil (filled it) and it started up. I assume this has happened again (had no tools, going up later to check). Now if it is out of oil, where do I go from here. Is it the low pressure oil pump, or the HPOP. I have 175K on the truck and i believe both are orgional. Generaly I have been having problems with the truck on start, it often in the mornings blows tons on white smoke which passes in 5 minutes and run great, tons of power all the time. And has very bad lifter tick. I have check codes i the past and none has surfaced. Buzz test is fine and No. 8 cycle fails contribution (replaced bad injector early this year), but I heard this is a common problem. Any help would be appreciated.
