Changed primary filter ran for 1 miute died wont refire

I am having problems with my 03 6.0 liter dually. I changed the secondary filter 3 days ago. The truck ran fine. Then today I was changing the oil, and I thought I would do the main one while it was on the ramps. I did not know about releasing the fuel pressure soi I got a bath. I installed the main filter put trhe cap back on. Finished my oil change. I fired the truck up and it fired up fine. I was backing off the ramps and it started to chug. I was backing down my driveway thinking it was just purging the air. When I got to the end it died. I pulled the secondary cap and it was dry. Left the cap off and kept turning the key repedidly and the secondary began to fill up, so I know the fuel pump is working. It got completly full put filter and cap back on, and it will not fire.It tries it just wont fire. Am I missing something. I really hate to get it towed. It stuck on the street Help!!!!!!

Did anyone reply to you on this? I have a 7.3 and I am having the same issue. I changed the fuel lines, it started, ran for a short period, started chugging(very loud) then died and won't start. I checked fuel bowl and it was down so I filled and kept cycling the key to prime, but it still won't start.

Primary filter is on the suction side. Did you fill the filter full of diesel? Fill both filters full and then try to start it.

Also is there any o-rings on that primary filter? Did you drop one or not replace one? Or you did not get it on correctly.
