Question 1995 7.3 Powerstroke Trouble

I bought a f-250 Guy said it needed a fuel pump. He gave Me a new pump.
I kinda browed and figured it was not the pump, but new pump was installed.
I looked on the valley and could clearly see it was leaking fuel from the 3 lines from the filter tank in the valley of the intake.
I replaced the lines today and cranked it up. It took a little while to prime up I guess, but once it did crank and run it ran smooth after a few minutes it started to rasp a little run a little bouncy..I gave it throttle and it got up to about 2000 Rpms and then it slowly slowed down and I tried to baby the throttle to just let it idle and it shut down.
My tach is working. But since the day I bought it it has the check engine light on.

Any clues on where to start and what to look for ?
I'm not a Diesel mech. (not yet lol) but I can handle anything under the hood and understand and comprehend very well....

This is going to be My only means of transportation until I get My F-350's transfer case back in..
Thank You
Timmy

IPR valve may be leaking.
You need to have the codes pulled....start from there.
My IPR valve started leaking and caused all kinds of trouble with idleing, runing, etc. It also set several different codes...injectors, IDM, oil temp sensor, ICP sensor.

Thanks guys for the reply. I have a OTC Scanner on the way in about an hour.
What is the IPR Valve ?
I think I found it.
Is it in the front the valley or it the banjo fitting with the Y lines coming off the back of the fuel pump.
I found this in the link below.
