Shut Down While Driving

Need some help, she is on the side of the road

He it goes. I went to start had long slow crank, then finally started. It ran like crap for a short bit then evened out. I start to drive down the road I notice my egt gauge isn't working, then shortly my abs light turns on.

I pull off the side of the road shut down so maybe it will clear. I go to start almost not crank power. While cranking dash guages are all over the place. I got a jump and it ran fine for a couple min. then abs light turns back on, fuel guage droped very low. keep driving to get to place to pull over then all my dash guages drop flat radio dies and a few seconds later truck dies.

If someone could help me out that would be great.

Before I left it broke down I checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood, they all look good. Everthing looks normal under the hood.

I had my HPOP changed about a year ago, and Scuffy changed 1,3,5,7 injectors a few months a go. Oil and filter changed about 2500 mile ago same with the fuel filters.

Sounds like your bats are weak and your alt is not charging. Need to test all of that

About two weeks ago I had everything tested when my tensioner assembly gave out. All was good. But I guess something could have gone wrong with in two weeks.

Once the truck is running the alt will keep it running. Sounds to me its not charging. Have it tested and go from there. When its running are you getting the battery light on?

Usually when it rains it pours....so yea it's possible. Did you check to make sure your belt is still on?

I almost forgot, when it died it spuddered out just like it did when the HPOP when out. Could this still be a charging problem.

It would still turn over and your electrical stuff wouldn't be acting weird if that was the case. Still sounds like alt to me

Thanks for the help guys, when I get off work I'll get the alt tested.

But if anybody else has ideas please feel free to post, seeing that I don't have the money for a tow, high dollar part and labor.
