I think you can get a '99.5-'03 PCM for your truck. The PCM your truck has is a detuned version up to early '99.

I have one for a manny trans.

MLE1 part number F7TF-12A650-SB

The link above, just scroll down the page to find that MLE1 number. You can confirm it's a 96 manual trans unit there.
