this may be something completly out of the blue. but try to start it with the truck in neutral. is there any noises what so ever when you try to crank?

when i turn the key it makes one small click sound and then nothing... its more of like a small switch or click sound and not a crank sound of a starter

Another possibility is that your battery's froze. Check the water level in your battery's and the sides for any bulges. When it warmed up they could have thawed out and might be fine. If one or both battery's froze, you probably are low on water in one or more cells. Just a thought. :-)
