Hood latch not connected - can't open hood

[See 4th post in this thread for answer]

2005 6.0L - everything is stock.

I moved the hood latch out of the way while doing an oil cooler installed.
I forgot to connect the cable when I reinstalled the latch, now I can't open it using the handle.

Does anyone have a picture of the latch assembly?
Can the latch be pushed/pulled open with a long screw driver?
Anyone have this issue before?

I figured out how to do it in about 10 minutes.

Latch assembly removal - for when your cable broke or (like what I did) forgot to hook it back up.

Tools you will need are:
8mm universal joint socket 1/4" drive
10-16" of 1/4" drive extensions
5.5mm box wrench
small flashlight
12-18" flat head screw driver. The longer the better
1 beer - I like busch light.

Step1: Use the 5.5 mill wrench to remove the 4 sheetmetal screws located on top of the grill. They are hard to get at but they will come out. They won't drop all the way out and will get stuck between the hood and the grill, but flick them to the side so they are at least out of the hole.

Step2: Pull the top of the grill away from the truck. Pull it towards you enough so you can reach a long flat tip screw driver down towards the bottom of the grill. There are 5 tabs about 1inch in length. place the screw driver between the tab and the mounting surface and twist/push the tabs towards you. Make sure to disengage all 5 tabs.
Gently pull the grill towards to and it should come out into your hands. Set it a side.

Step 3: There is a plastic/rubber shroud on the upper part between the radiator and the grill. It has 5 plastic caps holding it in place but you will only have access to 3 of them in the middle. Pop all of them out and push/pull the shroud down so you can see the latch.

Step4: Take your ratchet and flashlight and locate the two 8mm latch assembly mounting bolts. Remove these bolts (don't be surprised if they fall down by the radiator). The hood will open right up.

Step5: Replace/Reengage your cable and remount the assembly. Test it out. Then replace the shroud and grill.

BTW I went to Evergreen Ford here in Issaquah Washington. Their diesel tech came out to "help" me. He said that I needed to remove the ac cooler (what ever the F* that means), something something, and that he was going to charge me. I just turned around and walked off. He yelled "good luck". Yeap, well no luck needed here, some help would have been nice but like always I figured it out on my own - with the help of my trusty powerstroke.org friends.
