7.3 Intermittent Knocking
I notice a few days ago that there is an intermittent knock when my truck is running. I heard it loud and clear yesterday when I was idling at a stop light. It will idle real smooth and normal then it will knock two to three times then go away. The RPM's don't fluctuate when I hear the Knock either. I only have 250K on the ticker so I'm hoping it's not a main or rod bearing or wrist pin going bad. Anybody have any ideas?

could be water in the fuel put some fuel treatment in it. I thought my John Deer 250II skid steer spun a bearing with a 100 hrs on it and it was water it sucked up it was knocking like crazy for a few seconds and then it would quit. Only guess I have Hope it is not anything bad. good luck.

I'll check my fuel filter, but the "water in fuel" light hasn't come on

Anybody know if it could be an injector?

That isn't the problem. I just did an oil change less than 1000k ago with Amsoil oil and filter, it's all I've been running in my rig for a few oil changes now.
