gray smoke and missing

my truck all of a sudden started blowing gray smoke and lost power. what is wrong with my truck?

we need to know what kind of truck you have? which motor?

Also, is there a check engine light? Do you have away to read codes?
Is it doing anything else?

Are you sure it's white smoke, and not STEAM? sounds like the infamous EGR

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!! THANKS A WHOLE BUNCH. IM NEW TO DIESEL ENGINES AND I GUESS THIS IS WHERE THE FUN STARTS. IM GONNA GO TRY THIS OUT RIGHT NOW AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS, IM SURE ILL BE BACK HERE SOON. ONCE AGAIN THANKS A LOT!!!!!
