I was changing the front left tire on my truck this morning and saw that there was some oil dripping on the front axle.
When I started the truck I could see that the oil was coming from the front of the engine right between the power steering pump and the engine block, It looks like there is some kind of tube running along the left side of the engine, and it may be coming from there??? It is about -5 out there with the wind chill so I did not do a lot of looking but it is dripping pretty steady and this is my every day driver. Please Help!!! |

That is the oil cooler. A common leak point for our 7.3s... Basically you need the 4 orings and two gaskets. Take the thing off (I think you have to jack up the left side of the motor to get it out), pull both the caps off and replace the orings on each end, put the caps back on, place the new gaskets between it and the block and reattach it, lower the engine and secure the motor mount and it is fixed....

someone help me here, but I think the orings on the line is leaking from your oil cooler, but my PS cap will puke out oil through the vent hole when its cold out so look at that first and make sure its engine oil and not PS fluid
