06 powerstroke started blowing white smoke

headed home today pulling trailer huuuge cloud of white smoke started blowing out exhaust pipe. seems to run fine with no loss of power but when taking off or idling there is enough smoke to hide everything in sight any ideas as to what I should do? 67000 miles on engine check engine light came on yesterday - books says water in fuel but I wasnt expecting anything like this please help!

Possibly an EGR cooler. I would take it to the dealership and let the warranty cover it. JJ

Send a message via AIM to 03f250stroke
did you drain the fuel filter in the rail?

it could be gaskets, the cooler could have failed. let the dealer look at it. its still under warranty

I'd lean towards EGR cooler from the smoke but you should have a loss of power also which makes me think it could be something else.

Very possibly oil cooler as well as the EGR. Warranty should take care of it.
