95 Choking out with Fuel Filter light on
I made it to work this morning, barley. My fuel filter light has been coming on under heavy acceleration for the past week. New filter has 400 miles on it. This morning started truck, ran fine, got a mile down the road fuel filter light came on and stayed on. Truck started choking and sputtering and wouldn’t go over 40 miles an hour. Pulled over, let the truck idle, it idled rough and low. After a few minutes fuel filter light went off, idle smoothed up, and I took off. About a mile down the road it did it again. Shut the truck off, and pulled the fuel filter out thinking maybe… Same thing again a mile down the road. It was like this all the way in. Run fine, then choke out like it’s not getting any fuel. I am facing a 42 mile trip home this evening, any suggestions?

Pressure at schrader valve is 40 psi, drops to 37 under load.

The fuel filter sensor may be leaking. If I'm not mistaking its on the backside of the bowl. It can be repalced, or install a plug in its spot. Mine was leaking awhile back and I replaced the the sensor. On my 96 the sensor was on the left side of the bowl, easy to see it leak. I wasnt loosing alot power, as it wasent a bad leak. Just replaced one on a 95 f350, it was pouring out. Good Luck

I have checked several times, and it is plum full evry time I check it. I haven't noticed anything leaking off of it other than a drip or two of oil.

Only what dripped while I was checking pressure. I'm about to go drive it and see what the pressure is when it starts choking down.
