'03 Chugging Sound
My truck is making a chugging sound after accelerating, or sometimes during accelerating. It sounds like 2 to 3 air pockets escaping from the front left area of the engine compartment. This is a new sound to me, and just recently started after the truck sat for 3 months. I have checked the coolant level and it hasn't dropped any nor is their any residue around the degas bottle. Does anyone know what this is or what is causing this. The truck is a 2003 6.0. Any comments would be appreciated greatly and thank you in advance!

It could possibly be sticking vanes in the turbo causing a surging issue. Also the 6.0s have a turbo noise from the factory when under boost and a sudden let off of the pedal, they make a chugging sound as well.
But my money would be on a sticking vane especially if it has been sitting for three months. |
