LOTS OF BLUE SMOKE
This is a long post but want to tell you what I have don so far. 97 Powerstroke with no mods. 150000 miles. It started smoking suddenly. Does it hot or cold. I changed the injector o rings a month ago. Trying to figure why it is smoking. Here is what I have done so far. I changed oil, Fuel filter. unhooked the turbo from the intake and still did. Unhooked the exhaust pipe from turbo and still did. With everything back together. I started while running pulling the injector valve cover plugs one at a time to see if there was a change but none, Still smokes. Fogs the driveway when I give it throttle. Runs smooth though. If it was injectors, Wouldn't it run rough and have a change when i unpluged it? What is the proper way to torqe the injectors when you cant get a torqe wrench on the top nut? Thanks very for any ideas you have.

hmmm... are you still building boost like normal. Wonder if you popped a seal in the turbo?

low fuel pressure can cause one to smoke , may want to do a fuel pressure test

Can it be the turbo if it was unhooked from the intake tubes and ran and still smoked? It still smoked without going through the turbo. The fuel pressure at idle was no less than 50 psi.

I am having the same problem let me know what fixes it. I too changed my injector O-rings a year ago. I was told to replace them again. I will this week. If it fixes it I will let you know. Also watch your oil pressure I have had to change my oil 2 times bc its getting so much fuel in it. Good Luck
