Blown rod
Have a 1999 powerstroke been blowing gray smoke at startup and would clear up after the motor would heat up, also seemed like it was missing little too, anyway daughter was driving it and I have a hole in the block on both sides, assuming the rods, was wondering if this could have been caused by a bad injector, I have the stage II injectors and would like to put them in a different motor. Not sure what could have caused this, any ideas, Have a truck pull next week end, got alot of work to get ready, thanks.

I need info on your setup. Stock injectors and a windowed forged rod block?
Wow. What tunes are you running? |

Do you have anything else supporting the stage 2s, that seems a bit crazy to have blown a forged rod...

Talked to a mechanic and he didn't think the injector would have caused this, he said that it must have just spun a bearing, I finished raising the cab and pulled the motor, I swapped the injectors, hopefully I can get the motor back in tomorrow

Got everything back together Friday and was test driving it, got into it 3 or 4 times, brought it back to the shop and seen the tranmission bell housing was broke from the starter up to the top. Pulled the transmission Saturday night and had the housing welded up, Put the transmission back in and welded the driver's side motor mount down and made it to the pull. The motor is vibrating really bad at an idle, but when I get some rpm's it seems to run fine, did pretty well in the pull, when the truck was in low range it seemed like the vibration was in the driveline too. Drives normal down the road even at about 70 mph. Did a contribution test and all cylinders buzzed good, cylinder 8 showed a problem so I pulled that injector and the head of the injector was cracked, so I swapped a head off an injector I had and still runs the same. Does anyone have any ideas?????
