6.0 white smoke
I have a 2003 with the 6.0, my son was driving it and the oil line came off of the motor that went to the turbo, we towed the truck in and had to put about 12 quarts of oil in it. Fixed the line that went to the turbo and restarted the truck and it was puffing white smoke. shut the engine down tried to restart it and the motor was locked up. Pulled the codes out and it was a cylinder 5 contribution test, pulled the intake and the glow plug out of cylinder 5 and rolled over by hand, nothing came out of cylinder, when we took the turbo off there was oil in the intake side of turbo and in the intercooler lines, thought maybe the turbo went out, but can't explain the white smoke. Does anyone have any ideas, thought I would have turbo rebuilt and maybe do the egr block off while I have the intake off.

if the turbo went then that would cause white smoke to come out of the tailpipe..it would be more blue (oil) but if the seals went in the turbo then oil would be burning inside and you may have a wet down pipe

!
The cooler will blow out and allow water into the exhaust manifolds and straight into the cyl's.
