Sounds like the motor is about to fall apart

Truck is running extremely rough at idle, occasionally smoothing out with about a 200RPM jump between the two. Can also get it to smooth out at about 1000RPM. Sounds like something is about to come apart when at idle, and is lacking power with a miss when driving.

Not seeing any codes, but cylinder change velocity is showing

So far I have the DS valve cover off and have disconnect each even # injector without a change. Listened with a metal rod, and notice the noise most from the HPOP. Pulled the HPOP and can't feel anything out of ordinary when spinning it.

Any suggestions on where to go from here? Planning on pulling the PS valve cover to check odd # injectors later today.


Also, just installed a ITP reg return w/ bowl delete about 2500mi ago, if it makes a difference. Fuel pressure is steady at 70 PSI at idle.

Found the problem... Flexplate cracked around the bolts, looks like a doughnut now.

i was getting ready to ask what the noise sounded like , just curious about flywheel, have seen them break , but not cause a skip
