Question EGR Advise Please

Thanks in advance for helping…

I have a ’04 Excursion 6.0l, full Banks kit with 6-gun PDA, 65,000 miles. Last week it started overheating and majorly puking coolant out of the reservoir. I went through three gallons plus water of coolant in three days. I took it to my local dealership where I always get GREAT service and I really trust them, no b.s., great guys. I got the call with seriously bad news yesterday, my warranty ended due to time lapse on August 25th.

They ran all the tests and said my EGR valve, EGR cooler and oil cooler have gone bad.

I’ve read on here about some of you deleting the EGR system completely. Since the warranty is gone and this is out of pocket, is this something I should do? What are the pro’s and con’s of ditching the system now that I have no warranty?

Also, is there an aftermarket oil cooler, or something better than stock that I should look for.

Thanks again for helping.

Thanks guys.

I've read about EGR delete pipes. Is that something I'll need or are any other parts needed / recommended that the dealership won't have?

look under 6.0 tech files, under 6.0 mods thread there is a complete write up on how to delete the EGR crap without spending much if anything except some time if you are a wrench turner.
