92 IDI fuel pump timing

I pulled the timing gear out for the injection pump when I replaced it and I think that was a bad idea. is there a good way to get this timed right now w/o pulling the whole front half the engine apart?
I don't have a book on this yet and I need this truck to go since I just KILLED MY PSD.

ive done it but its reaally hard to get back in time, i spent as much time trying as i would have spent just removing the front cover and putting it in time right , there are 2 v symbols that have to point to each other to be in time

I am attempting to cheat by putting the harmonic balancer timing mark near where it should be for TDC then using a small pic to feel the timong mark on the gear behind the front cover... I have now determined I need new batteries also so I wont get to try it till I get to town (whenever that might be next).
