Unhappy 6.0 no power when in drive

got low on fuel...real low. it said 0 miles till empty. Went into Home depot then when I started it, I put it in drive and it barely moved, not passed 10 miles a hour. So i crept across the lot and filled up. Then it still did the same thing. It revs good in neutral but really don't hear the turbo. Then I took off and when I would accellerate it would go flat at about 5mph. Could it be a fuel problem because I was low. It's not a fuel filter problem because it revs in neutral. So I left it on the side by a house. Help!!!

Hmmm, I would actually say fuel filter, but the problem that you describe makes me think that the VGT solenoid isn't working. Any smoke from the exhaust, either in Neutral or in Drive?

It's not likely a code. There's no sensor on the turbo to verify that the signal commanded is what has occurred. The AE can command the VGT solenoid to open and close...

PS. If not, you can always take it in to the dealership and they can perform similar diagnostics.

You can also pull your intake off and check to ensure your turbo isn't seized.

From the sounds of this and a lot of smoke there is a Turbo issue.

yea, I have no boost when I rev it in neutral or in drive. Should I have? and what could cause it. It just happened all of a sudden
