ran out of diesel

my friend has a 1995 powerstroke and he ran it out of fuel. Now it does crank but no power. He changed the fuel filter but still the same. any sugestions?

More than likely you have air in your fuel line. Not sure how the 95 fuel systems but on my 99.5 I would open the fuel bowl drain turn on the key until fuel was flowing out the hose I installed onto the ground. Then you will have to get the air out of the rest of the fuel system. Good luck

But in all seriousness you have to keep cranking to get all the air out that was introduced when he ran out of fuel. Just dont burn out the starter

Wont work sir, mechanical fuel pump on the OBS. Has to be cranking to pump fuel

No problem Thats one thing alot of OBS guys(myself included) dont know at first is cycling the key does nothing and then they think all hope is lost(myself included)
