Check the fuel cut off solenoid on the injector pump. It could also be a failing injector pump.
Welcome to the ORG.!

When it wont start pour some cool water, NOT ICE COLD water on the injection pump to cool it down. IF it starts, it's time for a injection pump rebuild.

the solenoid on top off the pump is not clicking when i turn the key on anyway to bypass it or wire it straight just to see if that is the problem and where can i find one can't seem to find one localy. injector pump rebuild if that is the problem. i'm kind of new to this diesel stuff what kind of $$$ are we talking about

injection pump, injection pump, injection pump, lol, you can waste alot of time trying to figure out whats wrong , but if you have base fuel pressure put a injection pump on it

will a rebuild be suffice or should i get a new and any ideas on the best place to find one. nice truck scuffy bet that 90g aux. tank cost a pretty penny to fill.

Rebuilds are about all you'll find, new pumps are not made any more. I've heard good things from Hectorwithinjectors on Ebay or Taylor Diesel Group shop.dieselpage.com

just wanted to take a minute to thank you guys for all your help. it was indeed the injector pump still pouring coldwater over it when it gets hot until i get my new (rebuilt) pump in. that water trick has saved my life. i know it's not technically a powerstroke but i still love my old workhorse.
