7.3 dies as we pulled into degrey state park

Please help! I took the family to degray state park in arkansas with our camper for the weekend and on driving in last night as we pulled in the truck just died. It started back up and wanted to die when i let off the throttle. We got up this morning and check coolant and was way low. it never overheated last night. Truck is gauged, tranny, egt pyro. Chipped with dp tuner. I filled with coolant and we drove around the park. Now on idle it puff white smoke and we have a 300 mile trip tomorrow to get back to springfield mo. Any ideas what it could be, can i fix it or is someone near y hear that can help. I dont want to be stuck on the side if the rode with my wife and kids.

If the exhaust smells like coolant you may have a blown head gasket. If you're not leaking coolant on the ground anywhere thats where you're losing it, into the cylinders

Would i be able to make it home? I cant see any leaks from anything other than what looks like ac condensation. The exhaust doesnt smell sweet like it would on a gas rig. Is there any other way to tell?

If it is a blown head gasket, you risk hyrolocking the engine. The best way to check is to buy a test kit that tests the coolant for combustion gases. You should be able to pick one up at the parts store.

I'm not a mechanic by any means, just a weekend wrench turner and knuckle buster.
