replaced the EGR and still burping
Sorry if there is a thread already with this topic, I searched and did not find one
I cleaned the original EGR valve and the truck ran fine for about 2 days, then it started losing power again on acceleration. Took the truck in to a dealer for a scan and was told the EGR was not working and that the glowplug on no 4 cylinder needed to be replaced
changed the EGR valve out myself and the truck ran fine (non OEM valve), except for the occasional hiccup, it's been 5 days since the valve swap-out. I am thinking now that maybe the EGR cooler needs to be replaced.
after changing the EGR valve, does it take a few days for everything to clear out, or should it fix all symptoms right away? also, I do not see a fluid loss in the reservoir, so how do I determine if the EGR cooler needs to be replaced? the truck has 285,000kms on it and runs fine other than that, have had it now for almost 6 years and am happy with it.
re the above question, if the EGR cooler is leaking, even a little bit, will the truck then hesitate on acceleration, or could I be looking at another problem?
