Runaway 6.4
how does 65 psi sound? I have 19,000 km on my 250 crew cab and the engine is being replaced. Fuel leaked into the oil and raised the level to the point the oil and fuel entered the engine thru the turbos via crank case ventilation. produced uncontrollable power while pulling away from a intersection. The tires started to spin, removed my foot off the accelerator and the engine kept going. bumped it into neutral (engine screamed) and then turned off the ignition. Dealer tells me the computer reports the boost pressure was as high as 65 psi. apparently there is metal parts in the oil pan now. Im glad this did not happen when my wife was driving. I'm not getting any satisfaction from Ford regarding the safety concern. Has any one seen this engine run away like this?

Happy that you reacted quickly, that could have been messy.
That's the first I have heard of any newer engine. |
