Mystery Oil Leak

Anyone had this problem? I found a small puddle of oil, maybe 8" across on the garage floor under the transfer case. The truck had been sitting unused for 2 weeks. Prior to being parked the truck was driven about 500 miles home from a trip. Oil trail comes from above the front of the tranny somewhere. Anyway after cleaning up the floor and parking the truck not a drip for well over a week. Tried running it, took it on a few trips around town. All fluids are full. Any thoughts are welcome.

i have an 05' 6.0 powerstroke. it was leaking oil , & i found that the bolts in the oil pan were loose. i tightened them up, and no more oil. but you never know. when i had only abt 300miles on it the crank seal went bad. i've had it replaced twice. good luck finding it.---------jason

Have you replaced the HPOP O-rings?? Or the turbo pedestal o-rings??
I had to change my HPOP o-rings, like many others!! Check the valley of the engine for oil??

Turbo pedestal o-rings, HPOP o-rings, Valve covers, Oil pan gasket rear of motor by starter and driver side are the most common, rear main is extremly rare but not unheard of on 7.3's. Check these areas you'll find it.
