pulled the valve cover on the passenger side to change the glow plugs when I noticed that the glow plugs were under a rocker. Wasn't sure how to get them out so I thought I would check this side of the engine for a problem I have been having with bad fuel mileage, no power, and somewhat of a miss.
I started by pulling the outer two connectors on the VC Gasket. The one up front near the glow plug relay was full of oil and the pin for the second glow plug was burnt. Does anyone know if I can replace the connector and pin? The Under Valve Cover Harness looked good except for all the oil in the Injector Connectors. I cleaned them out a little, but is that normal? Why would there be a rubber gasket around the connectors if oil was supposed to be in there? All four connectors had oil in them. The back Outer VC Gasket only had a trace amount of oil in it.
After I cleaned them, I started the engine and checked the oil coming out of the spouts. That looked okay I guess. Not sure how much oil should be coming out, but all looked about the same. Then I pulled each injector connector one by one to check for any problems. All checked out good.
That is where I am at. Haven't done the other side yet. Need to find out if I can get a connector for the Engine Wire Harness that goes to the VC Gasket then press on from there.
